MASTER PLANS + FEASIBILITY STUDIES

HMA2 has collaborated with schools and libraries to create master plans and feasibility studies that align with their missions and visions, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of their communities while also integrating with the future vision of the town or city.

FERGUSON LIBRARY

ARCHITECTURAL FEASIBILITY STUDY

HMA2 architects conducted a feasibility study of all its four existing facilities and including the potential of an additional facility as part of an overall masterplan for system-wide growth over the next decade. The study examined and documented existing space and infrastructural deficiencies in library buildings and respective grounds and suggested how best to reimagine space and improve services.  A key goal has been to develop flexible and cost-effective spaces at all locations that meet current community needs and antipated future requirements.

MOUNT PLEASANT PUBLIC LIBRARY
Master Plan Report

The Mount Pleasant Public library includes two facilities include a 22,000 sf main building and a modest 2,8-- sf branch. HMA2 architects accessed the existing facilities, established use functions for the two facilities moving forward, developed responsive design concepts and prepared probable costs.

RUSSELL LIBRARY:
FACILITIES ASSESSMENT + SPACE PLANNING RECOMMENDATIONS

HMA2 inspected the Russell Library's facility conditions, city settings, history and visions for the city and library. We created an assessment report that established cost, function, expectations and parameters and looked at how Middletown can get the best return on its investment in making it public library facility future-ready for all by examining potential scenarios to Repair, Renovate, Relocate and/ or Repurpose.

SITE FEASIBILITY STUDY

HMA2 architects working with Russell Library developed a hierarchy of needs for selecting a site for their future library.  We looked at several different types of sites including their existing site or a new downtown, waterfront, suburban or campus. We developed site plan diagrams and massing/ layout studies to test fit the library on the different sites.

ACTON PUBLIC LIBRARY

ARCHITECTURAL FEASIBILITY STUDY

HMA2 architects assessed the existing facility and prepared space design feasibility studies by which the existing building and site could be adapted and potentially expanded to manifest the strategic plan. The proposed design leverages the power of place to do more to advance the library's tradition as a vibrant and valued place of learning and center of community life for Old Saybrook today and in the future.
