GILMAN SCHOOL:
PERFORMING & COMMUNITY ARTS CENTER
48,000 SF | BALTIMORE, MD
HMA2 architects worked with Gilman School to develop initial building concepts, create a building program and develop a basis for design. We examined the mission + vision, pedagogy, site conditions, construction costs and timeline of the project. The basis for design was for a 650 seat Performing & Community Arts Center Building that:
โ
Both fits in and stands out in the campus
Is flexible, innovative, state of the art
Connects middle and upper school
Serves everyday gathering, learning, performing and events
Advances community life and learning

Attracts community and funding support
Demonstrates sustainable practices
Activates the front of Gilman
Invites participation, affliction and new connections
